Top 10 - Ankha

The top 10 popular villager September on the list is Ankha. His striking design has won her an army of admirers. His headdress for is adorned with a cobra and it resembles the nemez crown something that symbolized kingship in ancient egypt. So she's just the classiest of cat villagers anchor. You'll find her most regal of residences. The interior to anchor's custom home is heavily inspired by the Egyptian pyramids with golden furnishings, hieroglyphs, an actual pyramid as the centerpiece and heck, she even has a golden throne to sit on which is thorough enough. So if like Ankha, you enjoy the finer things in life, you should definitely reserve a spot for this mummified moggie on the top of your pyramid scheme.

Top 9 - Merengue

It's been a while since we've seen Meringue on the Animal Crossing top 10, so it's nice to see her bake with a vengeance this month as she rises to ninth position. Part of Meringue's popularity is down to how she looks with that unique upturned strawberry and her cute little chef's outfit that rounds the whole ensemble off. Aside from her amazing design, she's also popular because, similar to Fauna, she's very kind and caring towards the player and other villagers. On top of this, she also has an incredibly cool house that's decorated to look like a bakery. If you're after a super sweet villager to brighten up your town and add more sugar than spice to your island, Meringue should definitely be your just desserts.

Top 8 - Roald

This cool critter has actually gone up a position to number eight in the charts. Roald retains that classic penguin colour scheme and accurate animals are always a hit with players, but this one has the added advantage of having these super cute ultra wide eyes that stared dreamily off into space. His custom house interior has incredible icy animated wallpaper and funky frosted flooring which makes it look like he's living on an iceberg, not only that but he's also decorated it with two huge statues of polar bears, a massive ice archway and best of all an ice block table that comes complete with two cool blue ice lollies which will be gobbled up in snow time at all. There's no chance of a frosty reception when you visit Roald. So if you drive past him on your way to a mystery tour make sure you roll down your window and ask him to join you on your island.

Top 7 - Marina

This month Marina has sunk to the depths of the top 10 and is now swimming around in seventh position. This lovable octopus is the embodiment of cuteness, her soft pink colour scheme is super sweet and it's accentuated by her big light yellow cheeks, the wisp of pink hair atop her forehead and the small pink bow on the back of her head which ties the whole look together. Marina takes her strawberry pink persona and themes her whole existence around it and if you go inside her custom house you'll find it decorated water wall with soft baby pink furniture that perfectly suits her pure personality. Marina is by far one of the cutest villages in the game.

Top 6 - Judy

Judy might be another new villager to the series but she's certainly not new to this top 10 chart as you'll often find her shining away in the middle of this list. Judy's highest point on this popularity chart was back in May when she popped in at number two and this month this normally study star has started falling again now shining away in sixth position.  Judy's look is inspired by the night sky and her eyes are full of sparkling stars while her beautiful pastel coloured fur mimics. Judy's personality is also quite unique as she's the only snooty cub in the game and this means she's obsessed with style and appearance to this end. Judy has decorated the interior of her home to match her eyes and fur with cheap and beautiful ACNH items star wallpaper, star garlands and cute pastel colored block furniture.

Top 5 - Zucker

This octopus chef is another villager to have dropped a place in the popularity charts this month, because he's finally been unstuck from fourth position. Zucker's look feels like a pretty weird fashion choice for an octopus. Zucker is also the second lazy villager to appear on this list proving that this super chill personality type is one of the most popular in the game. Having a lazy personality means that Zucker will rarely lose his tempura with your other villagers, so he should settle in very quickly if you invite him to live on your island. The interior of his home which is set up to look like he's an outdoor vendor complete with multiple food carts and a lovely view of the city.

Top 4 - Sherb

Sherb is one of the eight brand new villagers in the game. You're going to need to track him down or trade for him if you want him because you won't be able to use those amiibo cards to summon him to your island. This blue boy is by far one of the purest and cutest characters in the game and the interior of his house which is furnished with numerous items from the cute set completely complements his adorable personality. Sherb is a lazy villager, his favorite pastimes are relaxing and eating and you'll often find him either snuggled up at home in his signature winter sweater, or out and about indulging in his favorite hobbies like eating and fishing with another new cat.

Top 3 - Raymond

Raymond has once again failed to claw his way back to the top of the most popular list and in fact now that he's perched in third place. He’s till be able to pull in the big bucks if you fancy trading him in, so this means you're sitting on a tidy fortune if you no longer want this awesome office worker on your island. Raymond is a one-of-a-kind kitty and that means collectors aren't able to use old amiibo cards to import him into the game. More than that though are his unique traits which include his complete heterochromia a condition where the iris of one eye is a different colour to the iris of the other eye and his personality type which is one of a kind as he's the only cat character in the Animal Crossing series to have the smug personality type with individual contributes.

Top 2 - Marshal

After two months in the number one spot, Marshall - the squishy-tailed squirrel has once again been toppled out of his tree by a meddling moggy. This mighty majestic marshmallow may find it annoying that he's no longer sitting at the top of tier 1, but as he's settled into second place he'll still make a real rodent in your savings if you decide to buy him from the ac black market. Marshal is a returning character from New Leaf. Despite his constantly frowning facial expressions this smug squirrel is a sweetheart and thanks to this personality type he should get on with pretty much all of the animal pals on your island. Despite his cranky facial expressions he's super sweet and he'll always leave a smile on your face when you talk to him. Not only that but his soft fluffy tail mimics the look and feel of a squishy marshmallow too.

Top 1 - Merry

This incredibly cute kitty is quite possibly the happiest villager in the game and as her name would suggest she's very indeed. Merry’s Japanese name means happiness so that's a good explanation as to why she positively radiates joy with her big white smile and those pretty curved black eyes that are accentuated by some perfect lashes. Despite being one of three cats to feature on this month's top 10 list, Merry has some unique features that really make her the cat's whiskers. Her short brown hair which is styled to resemble bangs, her very faint little double chin and that cute little butter nose that from a distance looks just like a tiny weenie love heart. Merry is such an upbeat character, if you need some cheering up, get a meow on and get Merry onto your island.
