Top 10 Animal Crossing New Horizons Underrated Villagers For August 2020
In Animal Crossing New Horizons, every single player will have their own preferences when it comes to which villagers they want to live on their respective islands. With over 400 villagers in Animal Crossing, most characters are often overlooked by players despite having so much to offer. Now here’s a list of the most underrated villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons. These characters aren't necessarily disliked or unpopular, they're just characters that I think deserve more love in the Animal Crossing community.
Top 10 - Renee
She is one of the new villagers for Animal Crossing New Horizons. The sad thing about Renee is she's not really popular at all despite being a brand new character to this game. She’s just an underrated villager in ACNH. She's one of the sisterly villagers, she's actually the coolest one. I just think she has good style, I like her hair and her piercings, she's just a very cool character and I loved having her on my island.
Top 9 - Nana
Now Nana is probably one of the more popular characters on this list, but overall the monkey species in Animal Crossing is one that's not really liked much by most fans. Nana really stands out and she's so cute, with a tan face and indigo ear insides. She has black dots for eyes with small eyelashes. Nana also sports orange cheeks and a small dark brown nose. She's just an adorable pink monkey. She has a normal personality, and frequently acts kind towards the player.
Top 8 - Sydney
Sydney is probably one of the more popular koala characters, but overall she's not really loved as much by fans. She's been in the series for a long time, but now she's just not liked so much by fans, it's not even just a dislike it's just kind of she's just kind of there and people tend to forget about her. This does tend to happen with most of the koala characters. I do really like Sydney and I think her new outfit and Animal Crossing New Horizons really suits her and is really cute as well like the overalls it just looks really great. So definitely Sydney is one of those very adorable characters.
Top 7- Bruce
Bruce is underrated solely based on the fact that all of the other dear villagers are just so good and so cool and so loved like Fauna, Beau, Raymond and Diana, but characters like Bruce kind of sit at the back not really chosen as much by people, but I just think he's really neat. He has a really cool sort of rebellious style to him, he looks a bit like an old rocker. In fact, he actually really does remind me of Bruce springsteen which maybe is where his name comes from. Bruce is a really cool character and it'd be nice to see him get a bit more appreciation from Animal Crossing fans.
Top 6 - Leopold
Some villagers are disliked because they're misunderstood. This is absolutely true for Leopold, a smug lion villager with goals of one day becoming a professor. His house reflects this, too, looking like a fun classroom with a skeleton, desk, and lockers.
Many people hate on Leopold, but his design is clear, distinct, and pretty cool. He seems to be a little misunderstood, as many villagers that people hate often are. Leopold is worth the time, even if only for his fun green hair.
Top 5 - Kidd
Most of the goat characters aren't really appreciated to the point where some of them like grafted straight up disliked by most fans, but Kidd is one of those ones who people kind of like but forget about especially with Sherb being in the mix now and him being so popular. Kidd really just does not get as much love as he should but I just think he's really neat. He has that sleepy kind of design to him, his house is really gorgeous. He's definitely an interesting looking character and I like his like business jacket. He's ready for some business, so definitely a cool character.
Top 4 - Rodney
This poor little blue hamster has to be one of the most hated villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons, but he definitely doesn't deserve it. Rodney is a smug hamster that first joined the series in New Leaf and has reappeared in New Horizons.
Due to his appearance, many have grown to find him a little off-putting, but they shouldn't, as he's a darling and a sweet friend. The interior of his house resembles a candy shop, which is really cool and might be a testament to just how sweet he really is.
Top 3 - Stella
Stella is one of those characters who actually is really liked by some people, she's definitely a favorite of some people out there for sure. I think Stella is one of those characters who's just so adorable and she's a really great design but she doesn't really tend to end up on anyone's favorite villages lists. It's just because she's a sheep and the sheep villagers aren't as popular as some other species, but I think Stella is a really great character and she's one that I definitely like a lot.
Top 2 - Genji
Many of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers are inspired by Japanese culture. Zucker represents the street food takoyaki while Kabuki resembles the makeup used by actors in traditional kabuki theater. One Japan-inspired character that doesn’t get as much hype is Genji, who is named for The Tale of Genji, widely considered to be the first novel ever written.
Genji may be a jock, but his design is flawless and classy. His zen garden home adds to his character’s background and provides a nice break from the workout equipment other jocks usually decorate with. A beautiful and funny villager, Genji is one of the most underrated villager in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Top 1 - Maddie
She's one of those characters who was brought back in Animal Crossing New Leaf for the welcome amiibo update, so she's a character that was removed from the series for a long time but eventually brought back and she never really found that traction like characters Dobie and Ketchup did, but Maddie is so adorable, she is one of those just adorable dog characters, all of the dog characters are kind of cute in their own right and Maddie is definitely one of my favorites of the whole bunch.
