With the latest rumors surrounding Nintendo Direct, the Super Mario Themed Items coming to New Horizons in the near future has gotten some of the community pretty hyped! If the Friday Nintendo Direct rumor is true, what do you think we will get related to ACNH? And will really some classic animal crossing content returning to New Horizons? Let's take a look!
Nintendo Direct & Super Mario 35th Anniversary
Before we get into all of that for those that don't know Nintendo will be celebrating super mario bros the 35th anniversary on the 13th of September, it is which of course marks the original NEZ or NES release of Mario furthermore you may or may not have heard. A well-known and credible journalist who has a great reputation for accurately reporting upcoming video game events before they're announced has revealed that Nintendo will likely stream a Nintendo direct on August 28th, so stepping away from Animal Crossing for just a moment, that's great news in itself as there hasn't been a full direct focusing on a first-party lineup since last September. Anyway back to Animal Crossing now, it's unlikely this direct if it's even a thing will actually include anything regarding Animal Crossing New Horizons Fall Update because as you know we typically get separate dedicated animal crossing to reveal trailers for this sort of thing, but all is not lost.
Now there have been various speculation across socials and media outlets that this rumored Nintendo direct is timed perfectly to include super Mario anniversary celebrations in the announcement it would make sense most likely this will be a brand new Mario game for Switch or a rumored remake of a classic or something like that. Anyway, there is also a rumor that in celebration of this huge anniversary that a super Mario crossover could come to new horizons and in short could be revealed in the next Nintendo direct.
Animal Crossing Super Mario Items
Now just like many other Nintendo games, Animal Crossing is known for promoting other Nintendo games within the game, ever since the original Animal Crossing has had Nintendo themed furniture items like the master sword from Zelda or the r-wing from star fox. With every iteration of animal crossing more and more Nintendo items became available to the point where a complete mario themed furniture set has been available in every mainline game since the wild world.
To give you an idea some of these items seen most recently in new leaf include the one up mushroom, build blaster, block, question mark block, coin, fire bar, fire flower, gold pole, green shell, pipe, classic super mushroom, superstar and of course the block floor carpet and the mushroom mirror wallpaper.
Many of these ACNH items were even available in Animal Crossing pocket camp last year to celebrate mario day, but are strangely absent from Animal Crossing New Horizons. Anway it's rumored that these items could return to New Horizons in a crossover event sometime in September to celebrate super mario's 35th anniversary, and if so may be revealed in the next nintendo direct which according to industry experts could be seen as early as this coming friday at least that's what some of the community would like to believe.
