Elden Ring: Nightreign is a standalone spin-off set in the Elden Ring universe. You don’t need the original game to play, and it focuses on co-op gameplay with new classes, mechanics, and a roguelike structure. With four editions available for preorder, the big question is: which one is worth your money? Here’s a breakdown of what each version includes, how much they cost, and what kind of player each is best suited for.
Elden Ring Nightreign is shaping up to be a solid co-op experience with roguelike elements and class-based combat. But with limited launch content and pre-release DLC already bundled in some editions, it raises some concerns about long-term value and content delivery.
Price: $39.99
Includes:
Full Game
Preorder Bonus: Bonus Gesture (Emote usable in co-op)
Who It’s For:
Casual players, newcomers to Elden Ring, or those unsure about committing to additional content. It’s the most affordable way to jump into Nightreign, and since DLC will be purchasable separately later, there’s little risk.
Price: $54.99
Includes:
Full Game
Upcoming DLC (additional characters and bosses)
Digital Artbook
Mini Soundtrack
Preorder Bonus: Bonus Gesture
Who It’s For:
Fans invested in Elden Ring’s world or players who plan to spend significant time with Nightreign. The included DLC adds future content, which is set to release in Q4 2025. However, there’s concern over the lack of clarity around how DLC will be delivered or if it’s justified as a separate cost in the first place.
Price: €54.99 (approx. $54.99)
Includes:
Full Game in a SteelBook®
Upcoming DLC
Digital Artbook
Digital Soundtrack
Preorder Bonus: Bonus Gesture
Who It’s For:
Collectors who value presentation and display items in Elden Ring. The SteelBook adds a nice touch if you prefer physical media aesthetics, though it's unclear if the game itself comes on disc. Functionally, it's nearly identical to the Deluxe Edition with a physical SteelBook replacing digital-only presentation.
Price: $199.99 + shipping (~$220 total)
Includes:
Full Game (Physical Disc)
Upcoming DLC
SteelBook®
Statue of Wylder (25cm)
8 Nightfarers Tarot-Style Cards
Hardcover Artbook (40 pages)
Digital Soundtrack
Collector's Box
Preorder Bonus: Bonus Gesture
Who It’s For:
Die-hard fans and collectors only. The statue and artbook are solid additions, but the overall value is questionable. Independent reviewers have pegged the extras at around $135 in value, making the $200 price hard to justify—especially with a $20 shipping fee and no physical soundtrack included.
At $39.99, it’s the best value. You get the full experience and can decide later if the DLC is worth purchasing. With no pressure to commit upfront, it’s a smart choice—especially for those unsure how much they’ll play.
If you’re a returning player or know you want more content, the Deluxe Edition might be a good middle ground. For $15 more, you get the upcoming DLC and some digital extras. Just remember: the DLC isn’t available at launch and its quality remains untested.
Seekers Edition is fine if you like SteelBooks and digital bonuses.
Collector’s Edition is visually impressive but overpriced. With an estimated $50+ markup and shipping fees, it’s arguably not a good deal unless you’re deeply invested in the franchise’s physical memorabilia.
