AC Pocket Camp Complete: New Features (Currency, Events, Items) & How To Transfer Data
Nintendo has officially announced Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete, the next big installment in the beloved Animal Crossing franchise. Set to launch on December 3rd, this game marks the end of the original Pocket Camp's online service, which will shut down on November 28th. The key difference between Pocket Camp and AC Complete is that the new game will be entirely offline. You won’t need an internet connection to play, which is a big departure from the original Pocket Camp, where online interaction was a major feature. However, this doesn’t mean the game will be lacking. In fact, AC Complete will feature all the content from the past 7 years of Pocket Camp, including events, items, and villagers, all available to unlock as you play.
1. Transfer Your Data from the Original ACPC or Start Fresh
One of the biggest questions players have is whether they’ll lose their progress from the original Pocket Camp. The good news is that you can transfer your save data to the new game, including:
Your level
Bells
Friendship levels with villagers
Furniture and crafting materials
Your campsite layout and outfits
However, if you’re looking for a fresh start, you can begin a brand-new campsite without transferring data.
How to Transfer Your Data
To transfer your data, you’ll need to link your Nintendo account to the original Pocket Camp. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to seamlessly transfer everything to AC Complete when it launches. Nintendo has outlined a step-by-step guide on their website to help with this process.
Important: Be sure to spend any Leaf Tickets you have before the original game shuts down, as these won’t carry over to AC Complete.
2. New Currency: Leaf Tokens
Speaking of Leaf Tickets, they’re being replaced with a new currency called Leaf Tokens. These will function similarly, allowing you to:
Speed up crafting times
Unlock Fortune Cookies
Leaf Tokens can be earned in-game through regular play, meaning there are no microtransactions in AC Complete. This change brings the game closer to a traditional Animal Crossing experience, where all content is obtainable without spending real-life money.
4. A New Location: Whistle Pass
One exciting new feature in AC Complete is Whistle Pass, a brand-new location where players can gather with their in-game friends. To visit friends, you'll need to create and distribute Camper Cards—digital trading cards with a QR code. By scanning these codes, you can visit friends’ campsites and even receive random gifts from them.
Whistle Pass is also the new home for K.K. Slider, who will perform nightly concerts, bringing back a staple of the Animal Crossing series.
5. Events and Seasonal Content
One of the most popular features in Pocket Camp was the continuous stream of seasonal events. The good news is that AC Complete will maintain these events on a 4-year cycle, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to participate in events you may have missed. Additionally, new events and items will be introduced throughout the first year, with content updates continuing until September 2025.
Complete Tickets and the Item Catalog
A new feature in AC Complete is the Complete Catalog, where you can purchase items you may have missed from previous events. These items can be bought using Complete Tickets, a new in-game currency awarded for playing. Think of them like Meow Coupons or Nook Miles from other Animal Crossing games. Again, there are no microtransactions—all items can be unlocked through gameplay.
6. Pricing and Special Offers
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete will be priced at $19.99 (or £17.99 in the UK). However, there’s an early bird discount available until January 31, 2025, allowing players to purchase the game for just $9.99 (or £8.99 in the UK). Given the amount of content packed into the game, this pricing seems pretty reasonable.
7. What’s Missing?
While AC Complete offers a ton of content, there are a few things that won’t carry over from the original Pocket Camp:
Online multiplayer: You won’t be able to visit friends’ campsites in real-time anymore, but the new Camper Card system at Whistle Pass offers a different way to interact with friends.
Leaf Tickets: As mentioned, Leaf Tickets from the original game won’t transfer over, so be sure to spend them before Pocket Camp shuts down.
The Pocket Camp Club subscription will also be discontinued, but many of its features—like walking with your favorite villager and saving layouts—will be available for free in AC Complete.
