Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event Update 2023 - 5 Every Holiday Event Update Changed
When thinking about updates to Animal Crossing New Horizons, usually picture the big things Nintendo added to the game, like the roost Captain and the many other major things in Animal Crossing New Horizons that got us excited, that includes the amazing froggy chair too, but two important updates related to the same thing might have ended up being near the top of the list, although what they changed is fairly simple in theory, definitely feel like the first is incredibly underrated and some players who are used to the game before this still don't realize that Nintendo actually changed it.
Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event Update 2023 - 5 Every Holiday Event Update Changed
1. Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event - New Year's Day
When Animal Crossing New Horizons first launched the game pretty much had no events in it except New Year's Day which has always been available for some reason. New Year's Day is Nintendo's favorite from the very start, promised that future updates would involve adding these events back to the game, and Nintendo kept their promise with each major update added to the game in 2020, and even in 2021 added events or made some kind of update to improve them, but this also caused another problem that hadn't been seen in any other game up until this point Nintendo decided that much like with Animal Crossing New Horizons Pocket Camp, they were going to add these events to the game in real-time.
2. Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event - Time Traveling
Now originally this was to stop players from time traveling, but given Nintendo's changes in the end, and hasn't done anything else to punish Time Travelers when they easily could have. This was really the case, however, this created a problem for themselves and for players too, every time they wanted an event to happen, they actually had to program it in for the individual year, when they released all of these events in 2020, they actually weren't programmed in for future years to come at all meaning, you couldn't go ahead to them and in some cases, you couldn't even go back to them.
If you missed them, you were pretty much stuck which had never been the case before in the series history, this also forced Nintendo to have to release updates in time for these events to happen. Otherwise, players would have completely missed out on them, taking away a key component of the game.
At the time seeing, lots of discussions about how time travel had kind of been patched, thankfully with the 2.0 update which of course was designed to conclude the real-time support of the game Nintendo made it, all events are programmed in for past years, and even all the way until 2063 when the game, basically becomes unplayable, this was a really smart decision, and it was pretty much inevitable.
3. Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event - Time locked
Although many did worry that Nintendo could have still kept these Animal Crossing New Horizons events time locked whether you agree or disagree about players time traveling towards or backward for events, it can't be denied that some of these occur on extremely busy days in real life for a ton of players, so the fact that they can now avoid missing out entirely is really nice.
Nintendo Minds players doing this at all, as because they easily could have time locked them, if they wanted to this has been proven even more by the fact that the events are programmed in for past years that have gone at the start about two related updates.
4. Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event - The bunny day
There was another similar ACNH update that fixed a huge issue for players at the very start of the game, this was for the bunny day, if you went around for the very first bunny Day event in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you missed out on one of the absolute most chaotic times to be players, it was so chaotic in fact that Nintendo, directly had to release Apache, in order to try and fix some of the madness that this event had brought on, maybe that's a little bit more dramatic than what actually happened, but effectively Nintendo had made the spawn rates for eggs appearing around your Island much higher than realistically, they should have been disrupting regular gameplay like finding Stones Bells resources from trees and more at an early time for a majority of players, this all went down in real-time.
5. Animal Crossing New Horizons Holiday Event - A week-long event
There was pretty much no avoiding the chaos until Nintendo released this patch, it's also interesting that they definitely release this, because of what people were saying online, so they did listen to feedback which was nice.
Nintendo's original approach, this event was inspired once again by Animal Crossing pocketkan having a week-long event that happens in real-time and focused on collecting resources, it's even possible that this might have been what they originally intended to do of all the other events that were added to the game later on, but the bunny day is truly unique in this case, and it probably stayed that way due to the negative feedback, although enjoy the fact that it's Unique, Nintendo decided to lower the spawn rates at the very least, so players who aren't that into playing it for like a whole two weeks when it's happening don't have to just deal with egg after egg after egg overall, the events of Animal Crossing New Horizons and although some aren't as perfect as their iterations in New Leaf which is a pretty high bar.
They've done a great job bringing these Animal Crossing New Horizons and effectively introducing them to a whole new generation of players, especially now that they can enjoy them whenever they would like, and you also don't have to deal with zip as chaos, but let's be honest the absence of froggy chair was the real thing that Nintendo had to fix.
