One of the coolest celebrations of March is the Super Mario Anniversary crossover event, which allows players to purchase a bunch of Mario-themed items. But that’s not the only celebration this month, alongside that, we have Shamrock Day (St. Patrick’s Day), which is a smaller event happening in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and with it comes a whole bunch of limited time seasonal items. Not only can you unlock a brand new outfit from the Able Sisters, but you can also get a brand new DIY recipe from balloons during this time too! What is Shamrock Day (St. Patrick’s Day)?
Shamrock Day is Animal Crossing’s version of the Irish holiday - St. Patrick’s Day. The holiday has been celebrated across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for over 1,000 years and commemorates the Patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.
We’ll have the ST. Patrick’s Day update & Shamrock Day event every single year in Animal Crossing and various items are added for Shamrock Day which are available to purchase. A shamrock is a type of plant that has clover-shaped leaves that are divided into three distinct parts. Shamrock Day ACNH items all have variations of this design.
ACNH Shamrock Day Release Date - When Is Shamrock Day In Animal Crossing New Horizons
The actual Shamrock Day event happens on March 17th in Animal Crossing New Horizons, some brand new items to celebrate the event are available from the 10th by the seasonal shopping tab in your nook shopping app or terminal, you can only get one per day. So you're going to have to keep checking in if you want to get every new item before they disappear after the 17th.
Shamrock Day Items - How To Get ACNH Shamrock Day Items
Starting on the 10th of March you'll be able to enjoy some brand new limited-time items, Shamrock Day furniture items (available on the Nook Shopping Seasonal Tab), Shamrock Day clothing & outfits and even a new DIY recipe to collect. Make sure you get these before they disappear after the 17th of March.

How to get Shamrock items clothes? Head over to the Able Sisters and you'll be able to purchase a whole outfit's worth of new Shamrock clothing items to help you celebrate the event every day. You should be able to find the full outfit in stock in the Able Sisters wardrobe, these items are the Shamrock hat, Shamrock sunglasses, Shamrock suit and the Shamrock shoes.
If you want villagers to enjoy the festivities as well from the 10th to the 17th you can also obtain a brand new DIY recipe from balloons which was the only new DIY recipe added in the latest update - the shamrock wand, which works exactly like all of the other ones in the game and looks like a crowbar. It's kind of strange to have this DIY be so limited, but it seems like it won't be so hard to find from balloons which is good. So make sure you head out there and get this new recipe.
