New Possible Villager Interactions Updates In Animal Crossing (Data Mine) - ACNH Future Updates
We're going to be taking a look at a potential new type of villager interaction that has been found within the code of Animal Crossing New Horizons. This feature is fully ready to go it seems, yet Nintendo somehow hasn't released it yet. We’ll be going over all you need to know here in this tutorial.
#1 New Dialogue
A while back when the full update was announced in late September. A prominent data miner for Animal Crossing New Horizons on Twitter discovered that villagers can now comment on more categories of furniture displayed within their house. There's “oh you have my photo on display, how nice” dialogue now. This is suggesting that the feature from Animal Crossing New Leaf where the villagers could visit your house was within the code of Animal Crossing New Horizons. Now, this was very exciting because many people wanted more updates with villagers, more interactions, and hide and seek from Animal Crossing New Leaf to come back to New Horizons, you'd have more than two of your villages.
So why have we heard nothing more about this feature? Now, this isn't too uncommon, because we know that many features within the game have been data-mined that we haven't seen yet. a small little one like this surely it doesn't seem too odd that they haven't put it out yet, but what's interesting is that an Animal Crossing modder managed to make this feature happen within the game. It seems like this feature is all ready to go at least from what we can see here. These screenshots by LeSaltzBoi show off Kyle the smug wolf asking to come over to the player character's house and then on the screenshot in the right we can see Kyle visiting.
So many people have wanted this feature where villagers could visit your house to come back from Animal Crossing New Leaf, especially since one of the main complaints about Animal Crossing New Horizons is that we don't have many villager interactions and that dialogue feels limited too. if this feature did return not only would there be new dialogue, there would be a new type of activity that you could do with your villagers. This would increase the friendship and maybe your villagers could even come over and buy things from your house as they could in Animal Crossing Wild World. Either way, there's a lot of potential here and it would be great to see this happen in the game. But for some reason even though it seems to be ready, Nintendo hasn't put it out yet. It's unknown whether there's some developmental error that is stopping them from putting this in the game or maybe they simply just want to hold this content off. A lot of people would love to see this happen purely because the fact many recent updates have felt underwhelming. It's a nice feature that would give you more to do every day and that's important to the core gameplay of Animal Crossing. And those are the kinds of things that are missing that we need to come back. if they could add this interaction back in soon, that would be fantastic.
The data miner also mentioned that if you had a photo in your house of the villager, they might have a special comment about it, and possible other different types of furniture as well, which means there would be potential for lots of different dialogue here. And as we mentioned, a dialogue in Animal Crossing New Horizons is something that could be improved upon. The dialogue isn't always too amazing, being able to see your villagers say new things every day and getting new interactions with them would help make them feel even more alive because they do feel pretty robotic at certain times.
#2 The Hide And Seek Feature
There was another interesting villager interaction that happened in New Leaf and hasn't been seen at Animal Crossing New Horizons, but it isn't in the data mine. That is of course the hide and seek feature. You could talk to one of your villagers and they would actually ask to play hide and seek, two more would come along and the three of them would go and hide around your town and you'd have to go find them within 10 minutes to get a prize from the villager. Now this game wasn't too hard, it was really simple. You'd find your villagers hiding behind the most obvious things like trees, it wasn't meant to be difficult, it was just meant to be a cute fun mini-game that you could do now and then with your villagers. It would help increase their friendship too. It's such a shame that you can't do this in Animal Crossing New Horizons, they did add a treasure hunt, but if your island is full of stuff that treasure hunt feature won't work. It wasn't the most unique or interesting mini-game in the world, but it was just a nice new interaction that you could do with your villagers. And we think that's something that Animal Crossing New Horizons is sorely lacking.
In Animal Crossing New Leaf, the villagers did feel robotic. For example, they wouldn't hang around and sing or run or dance like they do New Horizons, but a lot of the dialogue and some of the interactions were better than Animal Crossing New Horizons. it would be nice to see some update in the future with more interactions and more dialogue for your villagers, especially something that could live up to what we had in Animal Crossing New Leaf at the very least.
#3 The Ceiling Furniture
Now another thing that was discovered within this update within the September update by the data miner was the ceiling furniture. With the new villager interaction, when they coming over to your house, maybe ceiling furniture could be finished as well. It's currently unknown at this time, but this could also be something that we see happen in a future update. it's unclear what in the game's code is finished to come out soon and what isn't, and even completed things like this villager interaction, they seem to want to hold off for some reason.
Nintendo's strategy for updating Animal Crossing New Horizons seems to be giving us content over a long period. It does frustrate some people but at the very least it's exciting to know that we could see updates like this happen in the future. Ceiling furniture is something that was only in a spin-off game Happy Home Designer. It'd be cool to see it happen in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
It'd be great to have more interactions with your villagers and Animal Crossing New Horizons. They're supposed to be our friends, they're supposed to be characters we can connect with and relate to. Yet in New Horizons it does often feel like they've dropped the ball on that and the village is almost like a shell of their former selves at times. But with more updates to improve interactions, give them more to do each day, give us a reason to talk to them every day without fear of repetitive dialogue and the same old things again and again. People will be really happy with that.
Animal Crossing villagers are the core part of the game, what would Animal Crossing be without all the different villagers and characters that you can get? Hopefully, since these updates do seem to be completed they'll come out very soon. We are approaching the first anniversary of the game, maybe we'll see some bigger updates then.
That's all for the possible animal crossing update in the future and click HERE to see more.
