In the Northern Hemisphere, staring from September, you can get Acorns and Pine cones through shaking a specific tree. Acorns can be obtained by shaking Hardwood Trees and Pine coins can be gained by shaking Cedar Trees. They won’t appear in the tree as fruit do.

Acorns returning to New Horizons as a crafting material and required in Autumn DIY recipes crafting. Pine cones have a low drop rate but you can get plenty if you keep shaking the cedar trees, and generally unlimited pine cons can be dropped from the same cedar tree.
